Mobile Water Treatment Plant for Frac Water in Hazardous Environment

Situation

A client identified the need to bring a mobile solution for treating used/produced water at various well sites, due to the high cost of trucking water long distances for treatment and the unreliability of finding a local water source. They sought a technology provider to turn this concept into reality.

Solution

AWC collaborated with the client to thoroughly understand their requirements and custom-designed a treatment system within a standard 53 foot “reefer” trailer. The system was designed to be effective in any climatic environment and capable of treating water from various sources with different types and levels of contaminants. Additionally, the entire trailer unit had to meet Class I Div I requirements, both inside and out, as it was intended to operate in classified environments.

Outcome

The technology proved to be highly effective across multiple sites. The mobile unit has traveled to different locations across North America and continues to provide reliable treatment even after 10 years of operation.
